Until I was introduced to the German Silver bed by John Robshaw, I'd never heard of German Silver. It has a beautiful tone, a silver color that is a pretty matte with a whiter tone than traditional silver. It is also called nickel silver, nickel brass, and Brazil silver. But despite it's many names it is an alloy of copper, nickel, & occassionally zinc. According to Wikipedia the usual formulation is 60% copper, 20% nickel & 20% zinc. Which means it isn't silver at all.
But it is beautiful, has a lovely tone, a heafty weight, & a great patina when aged.
