things to know about yourself before designer meeting It's an interesting relationship, the one between a designer and client.  There is very little time for a designer to get to know very personal and sometimes private information about you.  So... how do you like your eggs in the morning?

Essentially you have a meeting or two before you decide if you want a long-term commitment and want to share the private details of your life.

Because by knowing all they can about you, your family, and your lifestyle (however swinging it may be) will result in a space designed just for you.

Some questions a designer may ask are design-related like color, lighting, upholstery preferences.

Some questions are more lifestyle questions like "Where do you spend most of your time?"

To help me get to know my new clients better, I use a document that I call the Getting to Know You document.  (Any ideas for a better name???)

So if you are thinking of hiring a designer, this is a great document to take a look at so you know what to expect and prepare for.  This is also a good document if you are diy decorating because it may make you consider things that you hadn't thought of.

There are certain things that you should know about yourself and think about before you speak with a designer.
